Hello Wonderful.
Is it just us, or have the past two weeks felt like a month? We sent out our first newsletter, made it 17 days into Dry January, and are stumbling back onto the treadmill—literally and figuratively. Lately, one question keeps popping up: creatine. What is it, do we need it, and how much is just right? Let’s break it down, shall we?
Our recommendations are 100% road-tested editorial. Never pay for play.
THE SUPP.
With all the recent talk about the benefits of heavy weight bearing exercises, we’ve been pondering the supplement creatine for months now. Should we take it to help build lean muscle mass? And if so, how much?
Creatine improves athletic performance, builds muscle, and enhances strength during high-intensity, short-duration activities like weightlifting or sprinting. Found in meat and fish, and made by the body, it’s a game-changer for energy, strength, and muscle growth. For women, it’s especially helpful in supporting muscle recovery, endurance, and combating age-related muscle loss. We found minimal downsides after diving into medical research. We also turned to our trusted trainer Keir Beadling, founder of Foghorn Fitness, who swears by taking 5g twice daily. He also says that all supplements not are created equal and prefers Momentous where he gets 20% off with the code: FOGHORN20.
You can geek out on a recent clinical trial that we found in Nature, a highly respected scientific journal, established in 1869: Single dose creatine improves cognitive performance and induces changes in cerebral high energy phosphates during sleep deprivation. (But of course, check with your doctor to see what she thinks.)
THE SMILE.
We were skeptical about Snow, the tooth-whitening trend that’s been all over TikTok, until Amy decided to give it a try. She used two pumps of this bright purple gel, brushed for two minutes, rinsed, and instantly noticed whiter teeth. It was enough to catch our attention on Zoom yesterday. If your caffeine habit is cramping your smile, you might want pump a little Snow into your morning routine. (This would’ve sounded bad in the ‘80s ❄️😁)
THE SHOE.
Runners on your mark! There’s a swift new brand from Vancouver called HETTAS, designed by and specifically for women, named after Founder Lindsay Housman’s twin daughters, blending both their names. A Canadian friend raved about her runners and we bought them on the spot. It’s a goldilocks shoe. Fits snug as a glove but not too tight at the widest part of the foot and not too loose in the toe box like other running shoes. The cushioning strikes the perfect balance between soft and firm. And most importantly ankles feel supported and stable. This brand is just getting started but we have a feeling HETTAS will leave their competitors in the dust.
THE SENSUAL.
The new coffee table book, The Guide to Becoming Alive by Flamingo Estate, is a visual feast that captures the lush beauty, bold design, and creative ethos of its namesake sanctuary. Packed with vibrant photography and inspiring stories, it offers endless ideas for transforming spaces and embracing a lifestyle in harmony with nature. More than a book, it’s an invitation to indulge in beauty and creativity, which will be much needed over the next four years.

Creatine, Snow, and a shoe named after twin daughters? I did not expect this to be the glow-up guide I needed, but here we are.
Loving how you blend science-backed insights with just enough sass to keep it digestible. That Nature study gave me the nudge I needed—now officially moving creatine from the "sits in my cabinet looking hopeful" phase to "twice daily, boss-mode" territory.
Also, Flamingo Estate’s book sounds like the visual Xanax we all need right now. Adding it to cart before democracy collapses. Thanks, as always, for making health, aesthetics, and future-proofing feel… fun.
Fine... I'll start using all the creatine I keep buying ... and not taking :)
